Chelsea have announced the permanent signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
Felix, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, has signed a six-year contract with the option for an additional year. The transfer fee is reported to be around £45 million.
During his loan spell in 2023, Felix made 16 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, scoring 4 goals and finishing as the club’s third-highest scorer in the league.
The 24-year-old Portuguese winger originally joined Atletico in 2019 from Benfica. He has scored 34 goals in 131 matches for Atletico across all competitions. Last season, he was on loan at Barcelona, where he scored 7 goals in La Liga.
“I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started,” Felix told Chelsea’s website. “I loved my time here before, and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day.”
Felix is Chelsea’s 10th signing of the current transfer window, joining players like Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, and Pedro Neto.
